Hello, my name is The Anh, but you can call me Marc. So you are here looking to learn English. Welcome to E-Space. You are now one among millions of people all around the world who want to be able to speak a tone so universal these days that it comes in handy wherever you are or want to be in the world. Everyone has to begin somewhere. For me, it has been a life-long journey ever since I was just a kid. What got it all started was a tape recording with songs from the 60s and 70s my sister brought home when I was no older than five. I sang in English long before I learned the language. With time, it grew into a burning passion and has become a part of who I am now. For me, learning English is much more than understanding grammar, knowing the words, and being able to form sentences. If you have that feeling inside you too, chances are I know exactly how you feel. How about that for a start, that we share a passion? Now, let’s turn to how I can help you. I hold two bachelor degrees, one in Business, the other in English Linguistics. I am trained as a teacher of English as a Second Language at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, HCMC. I have had three years of private tutoring, working with kids in international schools, teenagers who are preparing for the TOEFL and IELTS, as well as adults who want to get better at preparing business-related documents or simply to talk to their foreign colleges. And as a freelance translator with published titles, I have a firm grasp of the written language, grammar, and styles. My previous experience has exposed me to many difficulties learners face, whether they are young, or late-starters with English. And I have successfully helped many of them overcoming the challenges. To put my whole secret into a few sentences (a secret I suppose is well-known to all those who are very good at a foreign language): well, think of it as a set of skills. Whether you can understand and use a language skillfully depends on how much effort you have put into it, how much practice you have had. In that way, it closely resembles the ability to paint, sing, dance, or play a musical instrument. And when it comes to skills, the eternal rule always holds true - practice makes perfect. In that process, I urge you to think of me, not just as a teacher, but also as your personal trainer and coach (one you hire when you go to the gym). It would be my honor to be there to guide and support you through your quest of learning English. I know, I’ve been there before, and I’m here to ensure that you don’t waste any of your time and effort. Of course, nothing good ever comes easy. But you know it well worth your effort. Thank you for taking the time to read my lengthy introduction. I look forwards to seeing you in my classes.
